The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism is responsible for the development and implementation of policies that lead to the growth of businesses, industries and trade. The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) sector, is the bedrock for industrial and trade development. In this regard, the targeted initiatives of the Ministry aim to secure sustainable livelihoods for all Fijians and achieve inclusive economic growth. The MSMEs are also the catalyst for innovation and development of homegrown niche products and technologies. Hence, the Ministry sees the International Business Awards as a means of giving recognition and encouragement to MSMEs.
